John Carver is set to step in for Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew over his imminent ban.
The Evening Chronicle says Carver carried out the role of head coach at Toronto FC and Leeds United during his career.
And should Pardew be hit with a severe touchline ban, Carver's role could become significant in the final 10 matches.
