Newcastle United boss John Carver was disgusted by the behavior of the Crystal Palace crowd on Wednesday night.
Magpies captain Fabricio Coloccini was the target of a pelted coin when he and his teammates celebrated Papiss Cisse's 43rd-minute goal at Selhurst Park in the eventual 1-1 draw.
Carver claims the Argentine defender could have been blinded if they missile thrown was on target and has urged league officials to take action.
"It just can't happen," he said. "It's got to be taken out of the game.
"I saw it and it misses his eye by an inch, another inch and it could blind him.
"I'm sure the authorities will deal with it. Let's find out who it was and sort it out."
Cisse gave the Toon the lead just before the break prior to Fraizer Campbell's 71st-minute leveler for the Eagles which left both sides with a share of the points.
