Aston Villa goalkeeper Scott Carson says he chose Villa Park over Manchester City due to the passion shown by manager Martin O'Neill.
"I just came here and as soon as I met the manager it was a factor in me signing. I said: 'Yes I want to play for you'
"Obviously I didn't see a lot of Sven, but he brought me into the England squad and I've got a lot of respect for him. He's calm and his coaches tend to do the sessions.
"You've seen the gaffer here - he's full of passion and he just wants his players to play with the same passion he's got.
"I think it's good and all the lads like the way he manages the team. There's a difference in their characters, but I think both work equally well.
"I don't know how every English players thinks, but personally I prefer the passion and when you need to be told, you get told.
"If the players see that the passion's coming from the manager then I think that spurs them on as well."
