Scott Carson is ready to ask away from Liverpool.
The Daily Mail says Carson will press for an escape from Liverpool today to keep alive his chances of becoming England's first-choice goalkeeper. Aston Villa and Manchester City are vying to sign him on a season-long loan.
The Under 21 international, who spent last season at Charlton, has made it clear to boss Rafa Benitez that he does not want to be Pepe Reina's understudy this season. Villa manager Martin O'Neill made a move after losing out to Sunderland in the race to sign Craig Gordon from Hearts, but he faces competition from City boss Sven Goran Eriksson who has been trying to sign 21-year-old Carson in a permanent deal.
