Carroll set for Liverpool playing comeback

Andy Carroll's future at Liverpool remains clouded.

The Daily Mail says Carroll is expected to play in a behind-closed-doors match this weekend, even though serious doubts remain over his future at the club.

The £35million striker, who is wanted by Newcastle and West Ham, missed Thursday's trip to FC Gomel but manager Brendan Rodgers said: "I didn't want senior players going to Belarus if they were not going to play. Andy stayed at home to work on his condition."
