Andy Carroll has revealed that the current crop of West Ham United players is the best he has seen at the club.
West Ham have enjoyed a fantastic season so far and following their 1-0 victory over local rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, the sixth-placed Hammers stand a wonderful chance of clinching a European spot.
Carroll has made his contribution to West Ham's fine campaign and the striker believes that the current Hammers' squad is the best that he has seen during his time at the Boleyn Ground.
The former Liverpool man wrote for the club's official website: "There's a lot of talk of Europe about at the minute, but we've just got to concentrate on playing the way we've been playing. We focus on each game as it comes and don't concentrate too much on who's ahead or who's behind. We look at the teams coming up, the next game and focus on that.
"It's obviously the business part of the season now. When everyone's fit we've got a massive squad and it's a great squad, and it's great to have the likes of Manuel Lanzini and Diafra Sakho back. It's the best West Ham squad since I've been here. The depth that we've got is fantastic in every position and it's great competition for all the lads.
"When you see everyone fit and everyone's on the training pitch together, we've got some team, we've got a great team and it can only get better. It's great to fight for your position. Everybody, from Daz [Darren Randolph], he's a fantastic keeper, you can see when he's played in the cup. He's great, it goes all the way through the squad.
"Hopefully I can stay injury free now, carry on the run until the end of the season and start afresh at the beginning of the next."
