Tom Carroll is delighted for Harry Kane after his late season run of goals and games at Tottenham.
Carroll has spent the season on-loan at QPR.
"Harry is one of my best mates at the club and to see him do well is fantastic and he deserves it," Carroll told the Spurs website.
"It's been coming. He's scored goals at every level and I was always confident he could do it for the first team.
"He's had a few games for the first team without really having a run, but the goals at the end of the season have set him on his way. He deserved his chance and I knew he would take it.
"A few of the lads who performed consistently for the Under-21s in the last couple of years have all had a chance and all done well."
