Lazio signing Juann Pablo Carrizo is eager to be available for their Champions League qualifier next month.

The Argentine, who completed his move last week from River Plate and will replace veteran custodian Angelo Peruzzi, will soon become an Italian citizen.

But he needs everything to be cleared in the next fortnight in order for him to take part in the capital club's European return on August 15 or 16.

"I have waited for a long time, but now I am eager to play," said Carrizo after he landed in the capital city. "I would like to play in the Champions League preliminary round.

"However, I need to wait for my new passport. My ancestors came from Pinerolo in Piedmont, so after my medical I will go there for the papers that I still need to submit."
