Daniel Carrico admits he knew little about Reading ahead of signing for them.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder, a £600,000 signing from Sporting Lisbon, is set to make his Royals debut at home to West Bromwich today.

He said: "I had to see where Reading was and the first thing I noticed was that it's close to London and Heathrow, which made me feel good.

"Now I'm beginning to know the area and I like the atmosphere."
