Daniel Carrico is staying upbeat over his situation at Reading.

His decision to quit Sporting Lisbon for Reading puzzled many.

With Royals bottom of the league and now 10 points from safety with five games to go, things are looking bleak for the Berkshire side.

Nevertheless, Carrico is not giving up just yet.

He told the Reading Post: "We are in a difficult situation but we have to still believe.

"We've got five games and we have to get some good results and we'll keep going."
