Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick feels the team needs to push even harder despite sitting on top of the Premier League table.
The Red Devils are two points clear of second-placed Arsenal and have a game in hand but Carrick says that is not an excuse to sit back and relax or let complacency set in.
"You hope that spell is behind us," said Carrick. "It's never far away though if you start to take your foot off the pedal.
"A couple of bad performances and bad results aren't far behind. That's what keeps you going and keeps you on your toes.
"You've got to keep the standard high and that's been the strength of this club over the years, maintaining that quality.
"It was a frustrating time earlier on in the season when we felt we were throwing away some games when we were in front.
"Now we look back and it seems as though we've had a good run under the circumstances, having not lost a Premier League game yet, and we're satisfied with the position we're in."
