Carrick thrilled to see Man Utd youngster Goss get opportunity

Michael Carrick was happy with the debut performance of Manchester United youngster Sean Goss on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old midfielder replaced Carrick for the final 10 minutes of the 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in Chicago and his cameo was something that filled veteran Carrick with positivity on an otherwise down day for United.

"I love to see the young lads getting a chance and the opportunity for Sean to come away on tour was probably a bonus for him in many ways," Carrick told MUTV.

"So to come away and train, and get that at the end, is great for him and will probably make him even more hungry."

United will now head back to England to prepare for the opening Premier League fixture of the 2015/16 season against Tottenham at Old Trafford on August 8.
