Michael Carrick is hoping Manchester United can have a change of luck for their Capital One Cup semifinal second-leg clash with Sunderland.
United trail the Black Cats 2-1 from the first leg and Carrick insists it is time to stand up and be counted.
The England star said: "We are giving everything at the minute, it is just not going our way.
"If we all stick together I am sure it will turn soon.
"We need to get back into the habit of winning. Luck isn't going for us.
"But at the same time we need to make it go for us. It's no excuse. It doesn't matter how well you play if you're losing games. We just have to keep going.
"It is a huge game for us. It is an opportunity to get to a final and you can't take that lightly.
"We will have to get over the defeat at Chelsea, dust ourselves down and be ready again for the semi."
