Michael Carrick was thrilled for Wayne Rooney after he became the most capped outfield player for England.
Rooney made his 116th appearance for the Three Lions in Sunday's 1-0 win over Slovakia in Trnava in World Cup qualifying.
The 30-year-old bypassed former teammate David Beckham's 115-game record for outfield players in the national team and his achievement was recognised by Red Devils colleague Carrick on Twitter.
Phenomenal achievement for @WayneRooney tonight. Making history "again"!!
This time England most capped outfield player..
Well done mate
