Michael Carrick has heaped praise on Manchester United teammate Paul Scholes.
The 38-year old continues to defy his ageing years by producing influential performances in the centre of the pitch for the Red Devils and Carrick suggests he his renowned vision and passing range has had a lot to do with his own development at Old Trafford.
"Paul Scholes is a genius. It is fantastic to play with him," said the former West Ham United and Tottenham man who is set to chalk up 400 total club games this weekend.
"Whether he realises or not, he has helped me enormously just by watching him and taking things in.
"We all know what he can do. But there are some things you simply cannot teach. You can learn but some of the stuff only he can do."
