Michael Carrick admits Manchester United are now facing a test of character. United now stand a slim chance of chasing down fourth-placed Liverpool in the race for the Champions League as the Scot's debut season continues to fall apart.
Midfielder Carrick said: "We thought the season was going to turn. We have thought that all season.
"We still believe it will. We still believe results will come for us.
"We have had success over the years. It comes easy when you have success.
"You have to deal with the down times as well. You have to respect both and deal with them.
"We will pick ourselves up. That is what we do. This is the business we are in."
