Carragher: MK Dons offer too soon for Liverpool legend Gerrard

Jamie Carragher has stated that former teammate Steven Gerrard is not ready to take on the job of a manager just yet.

Gerrard will leave LA Galaxy this year and many feel that the Liverpool legend will now be moving into the world of football management in England following his return from the United States.

There have been reports that League One side Milton Keynes Dons have already made Gerrard an offer to take over the reins as manager but the midfielder is said to have turned it down.

Now ex-teammate Carragher has gone on to speak regarding Gerrard's decision and has explained that the 35-year-old is not yet ready to take on such a role.

"I don't think that's going to happen now going there, I just don't think he fancies it (MK Dons)," Carragher said during a Twitter Q&A on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football show.

"He's turned it down now but the fact he spoke to a club shows it will only be a matter of time.

"I just think it's come too early; six or 12 months down the line there would have been a good chance of it happening.

"I don't think he is fully ready yet. That's not to say he couldn't do the job but maybe he wants to see if he can get more experience and he is still getting his coaching badges."
