Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher will retire as club captain.
The Liverpool Echo says Carragher will captain Liverpool FC in the final two games of his illustrious career as Steven Gerrard prepares to undergo shoulder surgery.
The 35-year-old defender will take over the armband for Sunday's trip to Fulham and the last home match against QPR.
