Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Liverpool great Jamie Carragher can one day become a successful manager for the Reds.

Carragher is currently working as a football pundit at Sky Sports and Ferguson believes that he would need to quit his TV job if he intends to enter into management one day.

"I have spent some time with him since I retired and have been really impressed," Ferguson wrote in his new book Leading.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes Liverpool's manager at some point in the future.

"But first he has to decide if he wants to leave the TV studio and get back into a more challenging role in football."
