Carr will stay with Newcastle

Graham Carr is set to stay as Newcastle United chief scout.

The Sun says Carr, dad of top comedian Alan, WILL stick by the crisis-hit club.

He will suggest signings to Alan Pardew and Joe Kinnear, which the ex-Wimbledon boss will then have to rubber stamp.

Carr's success stories include the purchases of French duo Hatem Ben Arfa and Yohan Cabaye. And he was rewarded with an eight-year contract last summer - three months before Pardew was handed the same.

His stock fell slightly in January after he was responsible for the Gallic influx which did little to help Toon in their relegation scrap.

But he would still be one of the most in-demand scouts in the Premier League should he be forced out.
