David Carney still believes he has something to offer at Sheffield United despite signing a loan deal with Norwich City. The Australian midfielder is intent on playing first team football with the Canaries and the possibility of a return to Sheffield down the track is on the cards.
But for now he has something to prove to himself and also to national coach Pim Verbeek.
"I still believe I can do a job for Sheffield United. It's a great club, a great stadium and I think the fans like me," he told The Star.
"They've always been good to me at least and it would have been good to have been a part of trying to go for the play-offs.
"But I do need to be playing some football because it's been a long time since I did that.
"I've got a game against Japan coming up for Australia and the coach there told me I needed to be involved at lot more."
