Carlos Sanchez pleads for patience from Aston Villa fans

Carlos Sanchez is determined to prove himself Premier League class at Aston Villa.

The midfield anchor man insists he's improved greatly since his debut against Newcastle United in August 2014.

He told Villa's website: "I watched the Premier League from afar when I was a young, small boy and always thought 'one day I will play in England.' So to be playing here now is a dream come true.

"It's very exciting to play here and I'm really enjoying it. It's the best league in the world in my opinion.

"It's been a good challenge for me because obviously football over here is very quick - much quicker than I'm used to in the other countries I have played in.

"But I think I have progressed a great deal. I feel very comfortable now. And I am so, so happy here with my team-mates. They are really great guys, very good to be around and we're really good friends.

"They have helped me a great deal in terms of settling in - that's really helped me, no question. I feel very welcome here at Villa. That's important for me."

Sanchez added: "I have no doubt that there's much, much more to come from me. I know where I can get to as a player. I know the level. I will get better - I know that.

"I would like to ask the fans to have a little patience with me. It's still a little new for me. But I will get better."
