High-flying Athletic Bilbao has received a further boost with Carlos Gurpegui agreeing terms on a new deal.

Gurpegui has agreed to sign a new contract through to 2014 with Bilbao.

The midfielder has been with Athletic for ten years and is a first-choice for coach Joaquin Caparros.

The club is expected to confirm Gurpegui's re-signing in the coming days.
