Burnley defender Clark Carlisle has urged manager Owen Coyle to buy in January.
Carlisle reckons Burnley need an influx of talent this winter to boost their hopes of survival.
He said: "Should we bring players in? Absolutely. We have had a brilliant start to the season and in many ways we have exceeded expectations but we can't stand still.
"I think the manager is looking at a few possible acquisitions and I like that. It is important we keep growing and new players would enhance the competition.
"We can't stand still in this league - winter is a crucial period and with the signings the manager has made, he has proven he can attract quality to this club."
