Carlisle United have offered former Blackburn Rovers striker Matt Jansen a chance to revive his career.

Jansen had been training at Rovers under former manager Paul Ince and is now set to make a bid for a football return at former club Carlisle.

"I said to him that I am at the end of the phone if you ever need to pick it up and consider Carlisle," United boss Greg Abbott told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"If he decided he wanted to train with us and get his appetite back, then you never know where it could lead."
