Liverpool owner John Henry feels Sunday's Carling Cup triumph is the first of many in a new era for the famous club.
The Reds held aloft the league cup courtesy of a penalty shootout win over Cardiff City after extra-time ended 2-2 and the acquisition of silverware could kickstart another successful time in the history of the club according to Henry.
"But this is just a great first step in what we are trying to accomplish, in moving in the direction that we hope we would move.
"It's about silverware, right, so it will help us build on every level and it's what our players and our fans expect. We are still learning but that is what we want now - to build on every level.""The supporters are used to a certain kind of excellence; to see that start to emerge at Wembley is great," he said.
