Carew urges Villa to go for Skjelbred

Aston Villa are eyeing Rosenborg midfielder Per Ciljan Skjelbred.

The youngster is rated highly by Villa striker John Carew, who has recommended him to manager Martin O'Neill.

Long-term suitors Newcastle United are regarded as favourites for Skjelbred.
