John Carew blasted Aston Villa teammates over Liverpool's last gasp winner this week.
Carew spurned a glaring opportunity to put Villa in front when he headed wide James Milner's second-half corner from inside the six-yard box.
And Villa were made to rue their wastefulness when Fernando Torres scored in stoppage time.
"We're very disappointed to lose like that, it's very disappointing," Carew told the Birmingham Mail.
"We deserved at least a draw and the most important thing is not to lose the games.
"If we lose, at least we should not lose in overtime when we just have to get the ball away from our area.
"We've made that mistake before and we shouldn't have done it again."
