John Carew insists he wants to stay with Aston Villa.

"I love it here, I feel it on the pitch," said Carew, fined by Martin O'Neill for breaking a curfew to visit a strip club last October.

"If I didn't love it here you would see that on the pitch. I am really happy. I love the club, the fans, the staff and the group here, who are fantastic.

"I just want to continue and to do well the whole of next season - and avoid all the injuries which hindered me.

"I have scored a lot this season and if I hadn't been out for months it could have been a lot more this season. I lost about 20 games, so it is a pity.

"But I am really satisfied with all of the goals in so few games."
