John Carew was delighted to be back on the scoresheet in Aston Villa's 1-1 draw with UEFA Cup rivals CSKA Moscow last night.

The Norwegian striker said: "I am just happy to be back playing after my back problems.

"You never want to concede the first goal on a night like this but we showed strength and managed to come back and score a goal. And we almost won it because Ashley Young put in some fantastic crosses.

"But the next leg will be difficult and it is sure to be very cold in Moscow."
