Caretaker Black, keeper coach Parks depart Aston Villa

Former caretaker manager Eric Black and goalkeeping coach Tony Parks have departed Aston Villa.

Black took charge of the club from Remi Garde in March but failed to win in his seven games at the helm as the West Midlands outfit were relegated to the Championship.

A Villa statement read: "Aston Villa Football Club would like to thank Eric Black for his efforts last season, especially in his role as interim manager, and wishes him well in the future now he has left the club.

"Tony Parks has left his role as goalkeeping coach. We would like to thank him and he also goes with our best wishes for the future."

Under the ownership of Dr Tony Xia, Villa have appointed Roberto Di Matteo as club's manager with former West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke as his assistant.
