Cardiff withdraw racism allegations

Cardiff City have decided to withdraw racism allegations emanating from the fiery clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

It was reported that Cardiff striker Michael Chopra was the recipient of some racial abuse from Palace players and even Cardiff's Jay Bothroyd confirmed the comments but the Welsh club had backtracked and will no longer pursue the matter.

A statement issued on the Bluebirds' official website read: "Following the publicity that surrounded comments that were allegedly directed towards our player Michael Chopra after last Saturday's match at the Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff City Football Club wish to draw a line under this issue and to look forward to tomorrow's match against Coventry City.

"There will be no further public statement regarding this alleged incident nor any action taken by this club or any of its employees."
