Cardiff City winger Joe Ledley held talks with Stoke City yesterday.

The South Wales Echo says Ledley was in the Potteries yesterday for crucial contract talks with Premier LeagueStoke City.

Welsh manager Tony Pulis is intent on making Ledley his first signing of the close season.

Newport-born Pulis had a £6m offer for Ledley turned down two years ago, but is now hot favourite to land the 23-year-old Welsh international midfield player.

Ledley looks likely to be playing for Stoke at Wolves on the opening day of the Premier League season on Saturday, August 14 and then making his home debut at the Britannia Stadium against Spurs a week later.
