Willo Flood fears his Dundee United dream could be dashed by Cardiff City demanding too high a transfer fee for the on-loan star.
Cardiff City paid Manchester City £250,000 for the midfielder in 2006 and despite making 25 appearances for the Bluebirds, he was shipped out on a season long loan to United.
After an impressive season for the tangerines, Flood has admitted that would be devastated if a permanent deal could not be reached.
"There's some talk the transfer fee might be too much. I might end up back down at Cardiff fighting for a place next season and if that happens I'll be gutted because I've loved it here."
