Cardiff City hope to name their new manager this week.
The Daily Star says they want their new manager in place before Saturday's FA Cup trip to Newcastle United.
Caretaker boss David Kerslake will take charge of this afternoon's Premier League clash at Arsenal.
But chairman Mehmet Dalman is desperate to install a new permanent boss before the third-round tie at St James' Park.
Kerslake said: "It's imperative they get the right guy in as soon as possible.
"They will have to have a big personality because they are big boots that Malky has left.
"I'm sure the owner and the board of directors will select correctly."
