Championship club Cardiff City want top flight outfit Manchester City to pay out Craig Bellamy so they can make him their highest-ever transfer.

The Welsh club are keen to bring the striker back to his city of birth and are prepared to offer him £25,000 a week but he will need to sever ties with City first.

Bellamy's future at Eastlands looks bleak and it is believed he will approach the club and ask if he can be sold to Cardiff or even given a free transfer so he can complete the move.
