Cardiff City are believed to be close to signing defender Ivan Ramis on loan from Wigan Athletic.

Sky Sports is of the belief that the Bluebirds are looking to bring in the 29-year old Spaniard for the remainder of the season in a bid to strengthen their defence.

Ramis, who is also a target for Crystal Palace and Swansea City, joined the Latics from Mallorca in the summer of 2012 but injuries have restricted him to 26 appearances in all competitions.
