Cardiff City striker Nicky Maynard is in talks with Wigan Athletic.
The Mirror says Maynard has fallen out of favour with the Welsh club after playing a part in their successful Championship promotion campaign - and he can go out on loan.
Latics boss Uwe Rosler wants to bring in a couple of new forwards after succeeding Owen Coyle and has spoken to Maynard about a move, which he hopes to push through on Thursday.
