Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd remains a target for Newcastle United.
The Daily Mail says Toon manager Alan Pardew wants at least two new strikers in the summer.
Pardew remains keen on Cardiff's England international Bothroyd.
Bothroyd is expected to leave Cardiff if they fail to win promotion from the Championship this season.
