Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd says Craig Bellamy turned him into an England player.
Bothroyd credits the on-loan Manchester City attacker for getting him into Fabio Capello's squad.
Now the in-form hitman aims to add to his 15 goals in the top-two clash against leaders QPR at a sold-out Loftus Road today.
Bothroyd said: "People talk about me getting called up by England and being the Championship's top scorer but I couldn't get all these accolades without my team-mates.
"They've been spot on, especially Bellas. I speak to him regularly.
"He has really helped me, with advice on what I need to improve. I try to take it on board every day.
"My work ethic has changed. When I was younger it maybe wasn't there but I understand what is needed of me now.
"I believe I'm a Premier League player playing in the Championship but I'll not rest on my laurels.
"I'm all about being a team player. If I don't score another goal but play well and we get promoted, I'll be buzzing.
"I've got tunnel vision because, like the rest of my team-mates, I want to be in the first Cardiff side to reach the Premier League."
