Cardiff signing Odemwingie blasts West Brom hypocrisy: What about Long?

Cardiff City signing Peter Odemwingie says there's clear double standards when he compares his failed move to QPR last season to former West Bromwich Albion teammate Shane Long's failed Hull City switch.

Odemwingie left Albion last month for Cardiff.

"We all make mistakes and I believe mistakes were made by West Brom as well as me," he told the Daily Mail. "I still love the club. I think we were both disappointed with how it ended up. I have never done anything wrong to any single person at the club, but I think I was treated a bit without respect.

"Maybe my manager's tongue slipped because he said my drive to London was total lunacy. West Brom were having nightmares last minute because they miscalculated on the move of Junior Hoilett. I had no information that my deal depended on Hoilett going the other way.

"It has happened to Shane Long. He was waiting there in Hull City to sign a contract and in the end he had to go back, but he wasn't branded a lunatic.

"So all those things make me feel bitter towards the club."
