Cardiff City signing John Brayford says he owes his Premier League move to Derby County boss Nigel Clough.
It was Clough who launched 25-year-old Brayford's career during his time in charge at Burton Albion.
He signed him for a second time, this time from Crewe, and took him to Pride Park. By then, Brayford was one of the hottest properties in the lower leagues.
Brayford said: "I've known Nigel for a fair few years now and wherever I've gone, he's always wished me the best.
"He has nurtured me through my career. He was the one who gave me a chance at Burton and I suppose my career has flourished from there.
"He knows the way I play and has kept me level-headed.
"I just tried to impress him game by game. He has pushed me on to this."
