Cardiff City are watching Dundee United youngsters John Souttar and Ryan Gauld.
Bluebirds' scout Tommy Johnson made a check on the pair as their team beat Hearts 4-1 last week.
Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara and his assistants, Simon Donnelly and Darren Jackson, are all former club-mates of Cardiff boss Malky Mackay at Celtic.
Gauld is also interesting Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton.
