Cardiff winger Joe Ledley looks likely to leave the club and join a top flight team.

The 22-year old has been linked with Everton and Stoke City after Cardiff missed out on the play-offs in the Championship but club chairman Peter Ridsdale is hoping he can cut a new deal for the Welshman.

"Joe is out of contract during the summer of 2010 and we cannot allow ourselves to get into a position where he could walk away from Cardiff City at the end of next season," he said in the South Wales Echo.

"Our offer is still open for us to sit down for talks on a new contract."
