Cardiff owner Tan pushing to float club in Malaysia

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has hopes of floating the club on the Malaysian Stock Exchange.

Tan admits he wants to increase the profile of the club in his country.

He told the Western Mail: "We'd like to make the club more recognisable in Malaysia.

"Hopefully we can get some Malaysian shareholders so, yes, we are looking at it.

"There is nothing firm because the authorities in Malaysia are looking at how to list a football club.

"We are not sure because we are doing okay, we can be profitable in the league if we manage our finances well, we won't be crazy and spend too much, but what if you get relegated? These issues are bandied about.

"But if the listing authorities of Malaysia agree, I would like to list the club because I think it will give a higher profile in Malaysia so we are looking at the options."
