Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan stands by his decision to place the club's head of recruitment, Iain Moody, on gardening leave.
The Daily Mail says the private reasoning behind Tan's decision was Moody's alleged £15million overspending during a summer transfer spree, that totalled approximately £34m, though there are suggestions from club insiders that the motives could be more Machiavellian than that.
Tan is said to be unconvinced by the quality of some of the players signed and believes the club should be in the top four.
