Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay is launching a £2 million bid for Reading midfielder Hal Robson-Kanu.

The Mirror says Mackay hopes to do a deal with relegated Reading for the powerful, quick midfielder, who will surely fancy staying in the top flight following the Royals' return to the Championship.

Robson-Kanu has risen up the Cardiff wish-list as Mackay has found other potential moves too hard and difficult and the Championship winners have received a quick lesson in top-flight finances.
