Cardiff frontrunners for Bournemouth outcast Grabban

Cardiff City are hoping to get an edge in the Championship promotion race by signing Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban.

The 29-year-old returned to Vitality Stadium after a productive loan spell with Sunderland.

Grabban bagged 12 goals in 20 appearances for the Black Cats, but both the player and the club decided to terminate the loan deal early.

All of the Bluebirds' rivals - Fulham, Aston Villa, Wolves, Bristol City and Middlesbrough - are interested in signing Grabban.

Unfortunately for them, the Daily Echo claim Cardiff have become Grabban's preferred destination after he held talks with the Welsh club.

Cardiff prefer to take Grabban on permanently rather than another loan deal.
