Cardiff City have managed to fight off Fulham and Sunderland to secure Joe Mason to a new contract.
The 20-year-old striker has been linked with Fulham and Sunderland.
But Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has convinced Mason, a £250,000 snip from League Two side Plymouth last summer, to extend his contract with the Championship play-off hopefuls until 2016.
Mackay said: "I'm delighted. Joe is a young, bright footballer with potential and we feel he has a good future ahead of him."
