Cardiff City owners have shocked fans by changing the colour of their kit and club mascot.

Fans are fuming after owner Vincent Tan forced through his move to change the club's home kit to red.

Malaysian billionaire Tan also changed their Bluebirds nickname to the Dragons.

Tan, who is pumping £100million into the Welsh club, appeared to be dropping his idea after a fan backlash.

But the team will now play in a red shirt, instead of blue, with a dragon crest.

Millionaire Cardiff fan Annis Abraham said: "Tan was always going to do what he wanted. He's blackmailed us. Our concerns have fallen on deaf ears."

Cardiff chairman Dato' Chan Tien Ghee defended the changes.

He said: "I know and understand that there have been reservations in certain quarters over the changes accompanying the investment but sincerely hope that all of our loyal fans will come to accept the changes in the spirit in which they are made and continue with their passionate and fantastic support.

"This club will always be Cardiff City Football Club and its name and heart will never change nor are any of the changes meant to destroy any part of its history or culture."
